What Will You Vote For? The Minnesotification of America?
Harris/Walz policy positions on the transgender movement. Part 9 of The Transgender Campaign
This election has boiled down to Trump. Will people vote for or against him? The Harris/Walz campaign has devolved into frantic attempts to court the anti-Trump voter with a screed of verbal attacks while deflecting questions on their own unpopular positions. Should anti-Trump voters consider Harris/Walz, it is imperative they know what they are voting for.
While there are many critically important issues to evaluate such as free speech, energy, our dangerous porous border, crime and economic policy, this article will focus on the medicalization of youth and young adults with sex change drugs and surgery. This subject deserves greater national attention plus Harris’s and Walz’s silence is deafening. Their actions, however, tell the story even if they won’t.
Gender dysphoria is real. It is a condition in which an individual experiences a marked incongruence with their sex and exhibits an intense and persistent identification with the opposite sex. Prior to the advent of gender ideology, less than 1% of the population presented with gender dysphoria.
Gender ideology is a novel theory that started percolating in the 1960s. Dr. Quentin Van Meter offers an excellent historical summary. Gender theory posits that gender is a social construct not biologically determined. John Money, often called the father of gender ideology, is known for his unethical sexual experiments on the Reimer twins. From these inauspicious beginnings, gender ideology blossomed into absurdity. Gender ideologues declared, and medical institutions agreed, that gender dysphoria is not a disorder but is common to all humans. Children are encouraged to embark on their own “gender journey”.
After millions of years as binary (male and female) mammals, gender ideology now suggests we aren’t. It therefore seeks to redefine human sexuality. There are 100+ “genders” and counting. Minors can unilaterally decide what gender they want to be and, in many locales, therapists are required to affirm their choice even if other mental health conditions are present. Or young adults can skip the therapist and obtain masculinizing or feminizing drugs in a single appointment from Planned Parenthood.
Cleverly, gender theory’s launch into the mainstream was hidden under a message of compassion for those who suffer from gender dysphoria. Obama was the first president to push gender theory nationally with the glowing language of inclusion. As a country we fell for it when we confused compassion with the underlying theory.
With barely a notice, the ideology spread through our culture slowly but surely until phrases such as “gender identity”, “gender assigned at birth” and “gender affirming care” became common place. Pronouns were shared. Kids who were taught or influenced online that they were gender fluid suddenly declared a trans identity at far greater than historical levels. Friend groups at school came out together.
Not surprisingly kids and young adults have started taking irreversible sex change drugs at an alarming rate as examined in “Boob Jobs, Bell Bottoms and Sex Change Drugs”. Men entered women’s sports, prisons and locker rooms.
Confused? This short video by Diane Ehrensaft, Ph.D. discussing the “gender spectrum” will not clarify things. She is the Director of Mental Health and founding member of the Child and Adolescent Gender Center in San Francisco. Would you take your child to her?
In this video, she describes what most of us consider personality traits and gender stereotypes as possible genders. Dr. Ehrensaft encourages us “to get off the binary measurement scale and start thinking about the "web of gender."
A dangerous aspect of gender ideology is “gender affirming” care as recommended by the federal government, progressive state governments and most major medical institutions. When a child or young adult declares an alternate gender, doctors like Diane Ehrensaft recommend “gender affirming” care which is a medicalized pathway where each step encourages the next: immediate social affirmation followed by puberty blockers, cross sex hormones and possibly surgery. There is no going back from this irreversible harm.
A crushingly sad result of “gender affirming care” is that parents of kids with persistent gender dysphoria or rapid confusion after social influence, have rejected “watch and wait” psychotherapy and followed the government’s recommendation to embrace “gender affirming” medicalized care. Because most kids grow out of it, they have destroyed their child’s mental and physical health unnecessarily. Please note studies such as this one from Finland call into serious question the horrific statement that activists deliver to parents: “Do you want a dead daughter or a live son”.
People with gender dysphoria should have the best care possible but the priority should always be “do no harm”.
So where do Harris and Walz stand? Kamala Harris’s campaign site states: “As President, she’ll fight to pass the Equality Act to enshrine anti-discrimination protections for LGBTQI+ Americans in health care, housing, education, and more into law.” In short “The Equality Act was a bill in the United States Congress, that, if passed, would amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex, sexual orientation and gender identity in employment, housing, public accommodations, education, federally funded programs, credit, and jury service.”
This bill would further enshrine the concept of “gender identity”. How is this even possible with 100+ “genders”? Wouldn’t it make more sense to simply encourage acceptance of those with gender dysphoria rather than redefining human sexuality with legislation?
The Harris administration has thrown their full support behind “gender affirming” care even as other western countries move away from it due to its limited benefit and potential for great harm. This administration also has modified Title IX to include “gender identity”. We can safely assume Harris will continue to push kids and young adults toward medicalization and continue the effort to cancel women and men.
Tim Walz, aka Tampon Tim, signed a bill requiring that menstrual products “must be available to all menstruating students” in grades 4 through 12. The discussion surrounding the bill makes the intent clear. As reported by Alpha News, the bill sponsor suggested: ““Second, not all students who menstruate are female,” Feist continued. “We need to make sure all students have access to these products. There are obviously less non-female menstruating students and therefore their usage will be much lower.””
Putting tampons in the boy’s bathroom propagates the theory that all boys can be girls and girls can be boys. It’s a daily reinforcement of their “gender” lesson plans. Wouldn’t it be easier to let kids be kids and manage the menstrual needs of any child with gender dysphoria privately? Why teach all kids they can change their sex?
Walz also signed into law a “trans refuge” bill that provides legal protection for out of state children to receive sex change drugs and surgery in Minnesota. It also grants the courts temporary emergency jurisdiction over children should they be in Minnesota.
As Matt Sharp of The Hill explains: “If anyone — a parent, close relative, or even an unrelated adult — seeks custody of a child “for the purpose of obtaining gender-affirming health care,” then that person can take the child to Minnesota, where state courts now have exclusive jurisdiction to hear the case. Those courts will decide custody of the child — and ultimately whether the child will be put on harmful puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones — based on Minnesota law.”
Walz signed a bill to ban conversion therapy: ““Conversion therapy" means any practice by a mental health practitioner as defined in section 245I.02, subdivision 26, or mental health professional as defined in section 245I.02, subdivision 27, that seeks to change an individual's sexual orientation or gender identity.” Considering that most kids and young adults who claim they were born in the wrong body have other mental disorders, this law will likely lead therapists to affirm and approve medicalization without examining the actual cause of their gender distress. The notable increase in detransitioners indicate the faulty logic of this approach. Homosexuality and gender dysphoria are not equivalent.
Do Harris and Walz still believe that puberty blockers are reversible? It is widely known that they are not. Do they know that most kids grow out of gender dysphoria? Do they know if you start a kid on puberty blockers followed by cross sex hormones, they will likely be infertile, experience significant health consequences and be tethered to Big Pharma for life? Do they know the numbers of kids and young adults seeking masculinizing and feminizing drugs has skyrocketed?
If they don’t know these things, they are too ignorant to be in their present jobs much less President and Vice President. Even considering the rampant censorship of information that opposes medicalization, the above information is available to all who care to look.
Either their brains have been gobbled up by progressive ideology or they know the facts and proceeded anyway. That would be evil. In this case, the most important question we can ask is why there is an effort to undermine what it means to be a woman or man and to sterilize children.
Know what you are voting for.. The Trump/Vance/RFK Jr/Musk team opposes gender ideology that has led to medicalization, men in women’s sports and other women only spaces. Harris/Walz will continue to put not only young people with gender dysphoria at risk but also allow an ideology to flourish that will send vulnerable people into the arms of the sex change industry.
If physical and mental health is a priority, the choice is clear.
DETAILS
Please consider watching this lecture by Dr. Quentin Van Meter who details the history of transgender medicine and John Money’s involvement. Another dystopian sign of the times can be found with a google search of gender ideology. More than half of the articles on the 1st page suggest gender ideology is not real and has been made up by the “anti-gender movement” to attack transgender people. This is a lie.
A companion piece to the above is this article by Heather MacDonald written in 2016 during Obama’s bathroom wars.
Please question why Obama pushed the gender ideology snowball down the hill. We know there is big money behind this effort as Jennifer Bilek has outlined. Our job as citizens is to follow the money and answer this question.

Please consider The War on Gender by Claire Rae Randall who transitioned 40 years ago and therefore offers a unique perspective. We should examine how the movement to market gender ideology has hurt the very people it claims to help.
There are many excellent resources on this subject but a good first stop is SEGM. Their spotlight page includes pertinent recent studies and essential data such as estimates on the efficacy of medicalization, number of destransitioners, suicide rates, etc.
A critique of Helen Lewis’s Atlantic article “The Positions that Democrats Won’t Defend” deserves its own article since it inadvertently, yet clearly, supports the position that our focus is directed to the symptoms of gender ideology (ie. men in women’s sports) and ignores the base problem - the promotion of gender theory. Because we ignore how and why we got here, the ideology continues to influence society. Watch this space…
Thank you for this well-written article. It’s truly disturbing to see what the left-leaning progressive agenda is imposing on our children.
Thank you so much for this comprehensive resource!
